What Can Toastmasters Do For Me?
Being able to communicate orally is a valuable skill for success in life and in your career. Communicating your thoughts, persuading others and leading others is essential to accomplishing your goals.
Becoming a Toastmaster will help you develop and improve your communication and leadership skills. Toastmasters offers a supportive environment for learning to prepare speeches, listen to and evaluate speeches, to "speak on your feet" and to build leadership skills. By participating in a typical meeting, members soon become confident, capable communicators and leaders.
The Young Professionals Toastmasters Club is aimed at helping young Winnipeg women and men become better communicators, and in the process, help them achieve their goals. Membership is open to any person over 18 years of age. For a low membership fee, you’ll receive a package containing the basic speech manual and educational material on speaking skills. As you progress, more advanced manuals are available to continually add new challenges. The objective of each manual speech is different, allowing you to practice and learn new techniques and skills. You progress through the manuals and the programs at your own pace.
